Clifton College Boys’ Hockey Course

Hockey at Clifton College This five-day/four-night course is aimed at ambitious boys who are of a good standard – 1st XI school and club players, county players and those who are on the fringe of county selection.

The head coach for the week will be Matt Taylor, the Connock, Midlands and England midfield player. Matt made his international debut for England in 2003 and has represented his country on 15 occasions.

His domestic honours include 5 National Premier League titles, 3 EH Cup titles and 3 Silver medals in European Cup Winners Cups. He will be assisted by a team of highly qualified coaches, who have all played at international level.

The course will include:

  • Attacking play
  • Defensive play
  • Advanced stick work
  • SAQ techniques
  • Match situations
  • Lectures on fitness, nutrition and psychology
  • Personal player profile on completion of the course

Players will work on all aspects of their game and be introduced to drills and skills used by some of todays leading players. You will be introduced to tactics and strategies from the international game. All sessions will take place at the Clifton College Sports Ground – a regular venue for county tournaments.
