Clifton College Girls’ Hockey Course
This five-day/four-night course is aimed at ambitious girls who are of a good standard – 1st XI school and club players, county players and those who are on the fringe of county selection.
The course will be led by Louise Hipkins, Head of Hockey at Clifton College. She has coached the school teams to great success over recent years – the school U18s have been County champions for 6 consecutive years and two players have recently represented England at U15 level. Louise has played international hockey, played Premier league for 10 years and is a Level 3 coach. She is also the current coach of the West of England U15 squad.
There will also be a guest appearance on one day by a current or former GB International player, who will head the coaching and also take part in a ‘Question & Answer’ session.
The course will include:
- Attacking play
- Defensive play
- Advanced stick work
- SAQ techniques
- Match situations
- Lectures on fitness, nutrition and psychology
- Personal player profile on completion of the course
Players will work on all aspects of their game and be introduced to drills and skills used by top-class players. Tactical play will be developed to National League standard. Coaching sessions will take place at the Clifton College Sports Ground – a regular venue for county tournaments.
