Rugby Course
For 8 to 14 year olds
Clifton College rugby has gone from strength to strength over recent years and it is now recognised as one of the strongest rugby playing schools in the South West. This residential and non-residential course will give you the opportunity to live like a professional player for a week and give yourself the ideal preparation for the 2008-09 season.
The Course Director will be Chris Moxon, South West Regional Manager of Rugbyclass, who has worked alongside current England coach Brian Ashton and helped launch the careers of internationals such as Ben Kay and Iain Balshaw. He will be supported by a team of coaches with extensive experience across a variety of levels. Also during this course there will be a visit from a current International player, who will lead a coaching session and conduct a ‘Question and Answer’ session.
During the course there will also be a half-day trip to the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. You will tour one of rugby’s greatest stadiums!
The carefully prepared programme will focus on:
- Individual skills
- Team play
- Tactical understanding
- Advice on rugby fitness, psychology and nutrition
On arrival participants will receive a personal rugby ball. At the end of the week you will also receive a course t-shirt as part of the prize-giving.
When you are not practicing to be a future international rugby player you will have the chance to use some of the great facilities at Clifton College – including tennis courts, swimming pool and cyber café.
We recognise as a priority our responsibility to ensure the safety and well being of all participants on this course. There will be a designated medical professional on hand at all times with responsibility for first aid and dealing with any injuries that may occur.
